A Note To Moms

I wrote this post as a guest blogger for Teach Love Workout and I really wanted my readers to read it also, if this isn’t your thing- don’t read.  If you don’t have anything nice to say- don’t comment.  These are just my thoughts and feelings, they are very relevant to both aspects of motherhood whether you stay home or work.  I think I did well with both parts, let me know if you agree by sharing with you mama friends to read!

It’s 6 a.m. and your alarm is going off, it’s time to get up, get ready, and head to your daily hustle.

It’s 6 a.m. and your baby starts crying, it’s time to get up, get the baby fed, and begin your daily hustle.

The Great Debate!!  The great mom debate……the difference between stay at home moms and working moms.  Both very demanding and both very hard circumstances.  These are both real life obligations for many mothers.  Where’s the happy medium?  “I want to stay home with my baby.”  “I want adult interaction.”

I had my son in 2015 and had an amazing two months off of working.  I was so upset to be going back to work but so happy to be having some real interaction with big people.  By big people I mean grown up’s that talk to me besides my husband. Lol.  I quickly began to wonder why I was working (oh, money ha. Why else)  When I was home for a couple days off work, I was ready to go back to work for that interaction.  I couldn’t seem to figure out what I wanted more.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved and still love spending time with my precious baby but I still needed to be out in the world.  I was feeling jealous of all the stay at home mommies and daddies who got to snuggle and play with their littles all day long.

My friend, a stay at home mom,  expressed her eagerness to get a part time job and interact with adults.  We spoke so much about the differences and jealousies we were feeling with the world of parenting.  It was so hard for both of us.  I had this.  She had that.  She had this.  I had that.

I wanted to tell mommies of all sorts that YOU ARE DOING FINE.

That’s right you working mom, I am proud of you!

That’s right you stay at home mom, I am proud of you!

You are doing fine, contributing to your family, and your future.

You are doing fine, your child looks up to you.

You are doing fine mama.

You are doing fine.

The strength, courage and determination that it takes to be a mom is exhausting.  Even at times crippling.  Each and every mommy sacrificing something different than the other.  So why is it that some of us are still debating what mom job is better?  The answer is both.  Both stay at home moms and working moms are making incredible sacrifices to raise their family.  It’s time we are all on board with each other and uplift each other.

The truth is, no way of being a mom should be a debate.  We may all parent differently, and not agree on everything, but we can all agree that being a mom is one of the greatest blessing to have ever received.  Let’s all work a little harder each day to be thankful for each position we hold in our child’s life.

*I know that there are many factors that go into why your a stay at home mama or a working mama, this post was just covering the basis of each without unbiased opinions*
